Dr. Sam Sanandaji, also known as Dr. Sam, was raised in Encino, CA and earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles. He then completed a one-year post graduate clinical medical research study evaluating the effectiveness of medication to treat the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) which led to several publications.
Dr. Sanandaji completed his Doctor of Podiatric Medical degree from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco. Afterward, he completed a prestigious three year residency program in Podiatric surgery at Kaiser Permanente, Hayward/Fremont. He is trained in the newest surgical techniques, such as arthroscopic and minimal invasive surgery. Dr. Sanandaji has expert knowledge in treating and resolving a wide spectrum of foot and ankle conditions using non-surgical methods and surgical procedures. He has a passion for resolving painful issues, with surgical intervention considered after conservative care. He enjoys the full scope of Podiatric medicine, including but not limited to: sports medicine, pediatric care, geriatric conditions, and issues associated with painful bony prominences, such as bunions and hammertoes.
Dr. Sanandaji is known for his wonderful bedside manner. He spends a sufficient amount of time with each patient, listening to and educating the patient on the cause, treatment, and future prevention of their condition. He also enjoys teaching the next generation of podiatric surgeons by involving himself with the residency programs at Cedars-Sinai and Encino-Tarzana Hospital.
He is also an active member of many professional groups including the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, American Podiatric Medical Association, the California Podiatric Medical Association, Los Angeles County Podiatric Medical Society as well as the American Association of Podiatric Practice Management. In his personal time, Dr. Sanandaji enjoys golf, fitness training, and quiet time at home with his wife.
